Gianfranco Miccichè, elected on the Forza Italia list in the Senate, resigned from his office at Palazzo Madama: he will remain in the Sicily Region, where he is a member of the regional assembly.
In recent days, Miccichè had anticipated his decision, linked to disagreements with the president of the Sicily Region, Renato Schifani, also from FI. “I’m staying at Ars because I feel the need, in addition to the duty, to defend myself,” said Miccichè.
The Senate should be replaced by the Syracusan Daniela Ternullo, former deputy of the Sicilian regional assembly and candidate in the seat of western Sicily behind Micciché.
